My work contributes to part of the sound design and consists of vocal interpretations of climatic wind data that coincide with the time period of the Hamilton Building's construction. I use my voice to explore wind descriptions found in the Beaufort Wind Scale that relate to the data. This scale, developed in the early nineteenth century by naval admiral Sir Francis Beaufort, was an attempt to standardize weather observations, yet his descriptions still invite subjective, poetic interpretations. My voice exists in this confluence of scientific data with poetic response.
